Why Manufacturing Needs More Students to Pursue a STEM Education

It is estimated that two million manufacturing jobs will go unfilled if more young people don’t seek an education in STEM and a career in manufacturing, according to the Boston Consulting Group and Deloitte for The Manufacturing Institute. Their findings are featured on a poster-sized infographic distributed at the Smartforce Student Summit at IMTS 2016. More than 17,000 students, teachers and parents attended the summit and were introduced to the vast opportunities in manufacturing. We hope those same students are planning to visit an advanced manufacturing center on #MFGDay, Oct.7! (www.mfgday.org)smartforce_brochure-infographic-only
